This seminar has been extended from 1.5 hr sessions to 3-hr. sessions and from 8 weeks to 9 weeks.
This two-month online seminar covers a balanced array of relevant Bahá’í and non-Bahá’í content – not only with an eye to learning about race but also to create a clearer, productive view of why Bahá’í especially, at this time especially, in this country especially should stand at the forefront of promoting the racial unity the world so desperately needs. Therefore, we will delve deeply into such questions as key concepts, identity, history, Divine revelation, slavery, practices in the Bahá’í community, messages from the Baha’i National Assembly, social action, and the Baha’i World Center’s Nine-Year Plan. It is a voluminous curriculum that could easily take an entire school year to cover.
Between sessions, there will be non-onerous assignments. Yet we embark on this journey not as mere recipients of knowledge but with an attitude of joint discovery and of personal growth and engagement. During our online seminar-type meetings, questions and comments are warmly welcomed.
