2024 Seeds of Reconciliation

The Morgan Public Library in downtown Montgomery AL, will host a Seeds of Reconciliation lecture series, curated by Dr. Gregory Paul Meyjes, (www.justcultureconsulting.com) — under the auspices of Interfaith Montgomery.

The series is meant to highlight _spiritual_ (as opposed to institutionally religious) actions aimed at improving and uplifting society. The term “spiritual” points to the deep inner values and principles that we hold dear and that stem from a belief in the sacred/mystical character of life. The series seeks to explore whether and if so how spirituality, through a variety of traditions, can be a valuable resource for the transformation of society towards what King called the “Beloved Community.

Included in this year’s series are presenters from five traditions — Presbyterian, Muslin, Catholic, Baha’i, and Unitarian Universalist. The Sunday afternoon meetings are free of charge and open to the public. They will take place in the Adult Fiction Area of the library on the last Sunday of January through May 2024:

  1. Sunday, January 28th, 3:00–5:00 pm
  2. Sunday, February 25th, 3:00–5:00 pm
  3. Sunday, March 31st, 3:00–5:00 pm
  4. Sunday, April 28th, 3:00–5:00 pm
  5. Sunday, May 26th, 3:00–5:00 pm

The program will be announced to the broader community by the Library.

On January 28th, 2024, JustCulture Consulting’s Seeds of Reconciliation Series 2024 (under the auspices of Interfaith Montgomery) was launched with a general introduction by Dr. Gregory Paul Meyjes and a presentation on the interfaith organization Faith in Action by Mr. Muaath Al-Khattab, who spoke from his perspective as a Muslim. The series will run on the last Sunday of the first five months of 2024, at Morgan Memorial Library in Montgomery, AL.
